No. Pro is fully usable without connecting a broker — build strategies, run backtests, read the pre-market bias and paper-trade with in-app mock data. You only connect Alpaca when you upgrade to Elite and want live execution.

The engine is event-driven and seeded from your exact inputs — strategy, symbol, date range, capital and costs. Run it twice with the same inputs and you get the identical equity curve and trade log. No hidden randomness, no AI-generated numbers.

US equities and ETFs (e.g. AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, SPY, QQQ) and major crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP). The symbol picker is searchable and grouped by category inside the builder and backtester.

Risk is never zero, but LiquidEdge is built risk-first: per-trade risk caps, daily loss limits, a max-drawdown kill, cooldowns after losses and a master kill switch with a confirm step. Live mode is gated to Elite and requires an explicit confirmation before any real order is sent.

Yes. Plans are billed monthly and you can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from the billing area at any time. Downgrading from Elite simply disables live execution; your strategies and history stay intact.

Alpaca keys are transmitted over TLS and encrypted at rest. They're used only to place and manage orders you authorise, and are never shown again after entry. LiquidEdge never custodies your funds.
